"The Poppy Field"
What makes "The Poppy Field"
a special painting is the fact that the artist invites us to join him
by
following the road on the right side of the canvas. This is the
first painting where the Monet syle and Van Gogh style are mixed.
We see "Monet style" from the front field to the horizon all the way to
the skies. "Van Gogh's style" is used to paint the three and the
shrubs along the road (the yellow shrubs are called Jannets in French.) |
