"Mat
De Provence"
The
technique used in this painting is similar to that used for "Poppy
Fields II"
but the support is linen. The "Mat" is a very old dwelling the
people from the South of France used to build to store goods and food,
as well as live in. This work, painted after a picture, was done
near Marseille when the artist visited his very ill mother. A
dominance of solid brush strokes is present. |
